Depth of Field

Shallow Depth of Field

This picture has a shallow depth of field. The focal point is the sunflower. This picture represents a shallow depth of field because the subject, the flower, is in focus but the entire background is blurred out to create the Bokeh effect. I think the photographers purpose was to emphasize the isolation of just one single flower since it's in a field of many.

This picture has a shallow depth of field. The focal point is the purple flower. This picture is an example of a shallow depth of field because the background is distorted which focuses your focal point onto the subject. I think the photographers purpose was to express the beauty of the flower.

This picture has a shallow depth of field. The focal point is the red bird. This picture has a shallow depth of field because the background is purposely put out of focus to change your view on the subject. I think the photographers purpose was to draw your attention straight towards the bird.

Large Depth of Field

This picture has a large depth of field. I think the focal point is the entire picture. This picture has a large depth of field because the entire picture is crisp. I think the photographers purpose was to show how beautiful nature is on it's own.

This picture has a large depth of field. The mountains are the focal point but I kinda think it might be the moon because it's yellow and it pops. This picture is a demonstration of a large depth of field because the entire picture is in complete focus. I think the photographers purpose was to capture nature.

This picture has a large depth of field. The boats are the focal point, in particular the boat in the center. This is an example of a large depth of field because it's purposely taken to be entirely in focus so the background can be part of the subject. I think the photographer's purpose was to show of the beauty of this city with boats.
